This feature works like networking suggestions feature at linkedin.com & facebook.com. The module can be configured to match various fields in the user profile like location, interests, occupation etc., to suggest matching users to the logged in user.

JomSocial People You May Know module intelligently shows you people you are most likely to know, by searching common friends between your friends!
The module suggests you those users who have lot of your friends as a friend, but isn't your friend yet. Based on the logic that a lot of of your friends know him, you are likely to know that person too! Similar to People you may know on Facebook.

Flickr Gallery for JomSocial

Flickr Gallery for JomSocial v1.0

Members can now display a smooth, sexy, theme-able, Flickr Gallery in their JomSocial member profiles. This is the first commercial release of the Flickr application for JomSocial. Here are a few of the current features in version 1.0

• Members can insert their Flickr photoset album numbers in the JomSocial Member Application settings.
• The gallery uses AJAX to fetch the images 'on-demand' cutting down on initial profile page-load time
• Works best with wide area for JomSocial apps but can be styled to fit nearly anywhere.
• Members can change display parameters like gallery background colors, caption text colors
• admins can set limits on photos per page, gallery size and behavior, and set the site Flickr API key

Installation Instructions

**************** ATTENTION *****************
This app REQUIRES the addition of a few lines of code to your profile.index.php file found at: /components/com_community/templates/-yourtemplatename-/profile.index.php
PLEASE READ THE DOC text-file included in the zip file download. There are details about the few lines of code you need to add to one file for this app to work.
It's a very simple addition.

You must add these four lines of code in the docs txt file, to the very top of the file (ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE FILE) remember YOU MUST NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE APP INSTALL DIRECTORY!

p.s. Remember that this version is a commercial work, please do not share with other parties. You can use this version on as many sites as you like. :)

Remember to apply for your site's own Flicker API key here: http://flickr.com/services/api/keys/

Detailed instructions:

ADMIN - 1. apply for a flickr API key (see above link)
ADMIN - 2. Make sure JomSocial is properly configured, and you know which template you are using in JomSocial.
ADMIN - 3. Install the Flickr for Jomsocial plugin app via joomla backend installer
ADMIN - 4. Navigate via FTP or other to your Jomsocial component directory which is under your joomla root in the following place (anything I put in bold here you will replace with your own info( joomla root/components/com_community/templates/name jomsocial template you're using/ )
--So for example if you have joomla installed in the root of your server and you're using the 'default' jomsocial template the path would be: /components/com_community/templates/default
ADMIN - 5. In that folder there will be a file called profile.index.php (this is the file to place those 4 lines of code at the top, from the documentation text file that's in the zip.
ADMIN - 6. Then after enabling the plugin in joomla backend, enter the API Key you created for your site on Flickr.
MEMBERS - 7. Then on the front end, add the application to your profile and in the app settings box you just have to enter the ID of the Flickr photoset you want to start with in the Flickr gallery.

For your members to retrieve their Flickr photoset ID's they need to do the following.

• If you have not yet created a Flickr photoset: 1. goto your flickr account... on the top menu there is a menu item called "organize", click the little arrow next to it to drop down the submenu and click on "your sets", create a new photoset, then when you hover your mouse over the top of one of the photosets in your list (create one if necessary), you should see a tooltip with the photoset id in it.
• If you already have a photosets created, fron your FLickr homepage just click on "Your Photostream", then click on "sets", then open one of the sets and you will see the photoset ID in the URL in your browser bar, it will look something like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/35680469@N07/sets/72157614278329553/
The Photoset is the part in bold.

JS User URL plugin

This Component/Application will allow users to enter their own nickname/url.

Allowing users to have a Link to their profile in a url like this:

www.yoursite.com/tom

www.yoursite.com/hotmomma

We have ensured that this fits into jomsocial, by placing it inside the Application menu.

Not only will this be a great feature for your community, making it more unique. But it will give users a easy URL they can remember.

Causing them to Link to their profile page more often, Providing your site with more visitors!

The backend features include an area where you can enter words which you don't want users to have. Such as swear words, or words which menu items are using. (more info in document)

Jomsocial Mutual Friends

This application appears on the profile page, either as core or after adding.

If you visit another user who has the application, it will automatically show you mutual friends.

It also includes settings to set how many you display on the profile page.

And it shows a Link which takes you to a page showing you all mutual friends.

This works with all 1.2 versions
